Persian Love Tea

Ingredients….

  • 4 cups water
  • 2 green cardamom pods, bruised
  • 1teaspoon saffron thread, ground
  • 1cup rose water
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • rose petals/buds to decorate

Directions….

  1. Add spices to a pan along with the water, rose water and sugar.
  2. Stir mixture to dissolve sugar.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove cardamom pods before serving.
  5. Serve with additional sugar, if desired.
  6. Add your rose petals or buds and when drinking think of the one you love and they will be sure to think of you x

  3. I make a similar tea I call “Farsi Tea,” which I named my blog after. 🙂 It is similar to this though without cardamom, with a base of black or red tea, and with nabat (sugar crystals from Iran) or honey.
